Abstract:
My senior thesis is in the form of a novella, the genre fantasy. In this fantasy novella I begin the journey of Hendrik, the main character, and how he changes from a man passionate for knowledge and seeking "The Truth", to a villain who will risk everything in order to obtain his ultimate goal: uncovering the Truth. The fantasy environment allows all the characters, not simply Hendrik, to flourish but also challenge and test them, whether for the best or the worst. This begins to cause quandaries for Hendrik and his comrades when they are being targeted by a guardian who desires to keep the Truth hidden. While this novella only displays a part of Hendrik's tale and the pursuit for the artifacts that are clues to the Truth, the thesis provides insight into his personality and interactions with other characters, most who become his travelling companions and also hints at what is yet to come along their path to discover the Truth.
